About Ixchel

Hello – Hola! I’m Ixchel (ee-shell)

a business and leadership strategist, an Indigenous WebDeva (25+ years) and author of Buzzing Blooms for Bees. We provide Business + Leadership Strategies,  guiding J.E.Di.s* to Decolonize Time so they can do epic ish in deep Flow states for Earth.

Daily Rituals for Thriving on a Transitioning Planet.

*Our JEDIs are working at the intersection of Justice, Emergence, Decolonizing, and Interconnection in the post-patriarchial global network of planet-centered businesses, politics, and NGOs/non-profits.

What is Rainbow Living?

We are utilizing neuroscience and ancient dharmic practices to guide culturemaking leaders, who may be overwhelmed, compassion fatigued and facing burnout by helping you cultivate your daily FLOW rituals, so you can shine like the SUPERNOVA you really are, and change the world while you’re at it.

TOGETHER WE CAN DO THIS BY…

Dreaming our way out of a toxic culture emblematic of late-stage capitalism, white supremacist colonialism, big pharma and big ag (that cuts us off from the medicine and food given to us by Earth), and the burnout, dis-ease, addiction, brain fog, autoimmune issues and general unmitigated stress that these uninitiated systems create.

WHAT WE'RE FACING TODAY...

If you’re struggling with your health. If your nervous system is overburdened. If you find yourself longing to make the difference your soul incarnated to make but find yourself saying things like “If only I had more time. If only I had more resources. If only I felt better. I want you to know one thing.

IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT.

There are social systems and structures in place that are designed to keep you exactly where you are, precisely so that you cannot make the changes you came to make.

AND...

We will learn how to work under, around and through these systems so that we can come out on the other side initiated, focused, whole, and free to Dream in the Wild.

We will not go back...

"We will not go back to normal. Normal never was. Our pre-corona existence was not normal other than we normalized greed, inequity, exhaustion, depletion, extraction, disconnection, confusion, rage, hoarding, hate and lack. We should not long to return, my friends. We are being given the opportunity to stitch a new garment. One that fits all of humanity and nature."

— Sonya Renée Taylor

About Ixchel

My first twenty years I learned it wasn’t safe to be seen as I fought to survive in a world where I felt I wasn’t invited and didn’t belong.

“Every blade of grass has its Angel that bends over it and whispers, Grow, Grow.”
— The Talmud

Yet through conscious daily practice over the next twenty years I discovered strength in surrounding myself with the community of others (including people, plants and pollinators) that helped me feel a sense of belonging — re-membering how to feel safe in my skin and embedded in the natural world while being ok with the discomfort of dismantling systems on the daily. Finding that alchemical gold buried deep within the hard rocks of violence, abuse and neglect became my resilience superpower.

I know all too well what it means to fly too close to the sun and burnout because of it:

I was the first in my family to go to college (while also a single mom of two by the time I was 18), I was the first Latina (Mayan, French and a wee bit o’Scottish ancestors) to serve as Vice Mayor of Petaluma, California, I’ve run for Congress and I’ve mentored other BIPOC women who were running for office or running their own business . . .

I know what happens when we go go go and I know what’s possible when we take 15 minutes a day (or less!) to breathe, pause and reflect.

Which is why I have 35 years of practice in consciousness exploration, meditation, feminist-based business development and intuitive-based action and I bring it all to my work with change-making woman+ leaders.

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”
— Alice Walker quoting June Jordan

I also hold a Masters degree in Philosophy and Religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies (with a focus on Integral Ecology) and a B.A. in Women + Gender Studies from Mills College, and a Permaculture Design Certificate. PLUS, I am Fellow of the Leadership Institute for Just and Resilient Communities.

I am currently writing, working and sharing space at a native, stingless bee sanctuary on unceded lands of the Indigenous Matagalpa in the highlands of Matagalpa, Nicaragua.

My zone of genius is at the intersection of: decolonizing time, Flow states, plants, planets, ancestral ways, dharmic movements, daily reverence rituals, feminism, political consciousness and Mayan Cosmovision. When you work with me, I bring you to this intersection through intuitive-listening, deep experience and practical wisdom as we Dream in the Wild.

“Wake up! If you are sleeping, wake up!”
— Don Alejando Wakatel Utiw (Wandering Wolf),
Grand Elder of the Mayan Nations

Which means: I have developed a keen sense of justice, emergence, decolonizing, interconnectedness. I view the world, our bodies and our Work as emergence. I can help you address the beautiful messes in your life, body or leadership capabilities from this space of integration and interconnectedness too.
